Equipment Program
FOCUS’s Equipment Program offers an opportunity for families to provide their children with equipment to improve their quality of life. The three divisions of the Focus Equipment Program are our Loaned Equipment Library, our Beach Wheelchair Rental Program, and our Equipment Grant Program.
Equip for Every Day Life
For over 25 years, the consistent mission of the Fragile Kids Foundation was to enhance the quality of life and well-being of children with support, supplies and prescribed medical equipment not covered by Georgia Medicaid or private insurance for Georgia’s medically fragile children living with chronic illnesses, genetic and traumatic disorders and orthopedic and neuro-muscular challenges. In 2017, Fragile Kids Foundation merged with FOCUS so we can better provide this full range of services to our children in need.

FOCUS Equipment Programs
- Loaned Equipment Library: FOCUS has a Loaned Equipment Library that might be right for your family’s needs. Click HERE to see what we currently have in stock. If you see something you like, email [email protected] to get a loaned equipment application. Once you complete it, she will make arrangements for you to pick up the equipment at our office, sign the loaned equipment contract and pay the $25 loaned equipment usage fee. At that time the equipment will be loaned to you for as long as it helps your child.
- All-Terrain/Beach Wheelchairs: FOCUS has several All-Terrain Wheelchairs in our loaner equipment. These are available for use for up to 2 weeks at a time. We do ask for an $100 deposit, refundable at time of return. Families are responsible for picking-up and returning beach wheelchairs. We do have two types of beach wheelchairs. To apply to borrow a beach wheelchair, please email [email protected] to get on our calendar and complete one of the applications below:
- Equipment Grant Program: Parents or legal guardians of a medically fragile child, age 21 or younger, with a primary residence in Georgia may apply for Equipment. Each application is reviewed by our Equipment Review Committee that meets four times each year. FOCUS may choose to grant equipment to families at no cost or loan equipment for an extended period for a $25 usage fee.
