Overnight Camps

FOCUS hosts overnight programs at Camp Twin Lakes for Teens and Young Adults in the summer and fall each year.

FOCUS runs two overnight camps each year for our teens and young adults: Octoberfest (1-night camp) and Camp Infinity (week-long camp) in collaboration with Camp Twin Lakes. Contact us if you’d like to learn more about our registration guidelines, and protocols we have in place for these programs.

Camper Eligibility
  • Priority goes to campers active in FOCUS TYA Programs.
  • FOCUS Camper must be between the ages of 14-29 years old at the start of camp.
  • Willing to stay with a group at camp, adapt to group living routine, and possess they physical stamina to participate in high energy outdoor camp activities, with possible exposure to high heat.
  • No aggressive, inappropriate, dangerous or threatening behaviors to self or other individuals at camp.
  • Able to communicate ‘yes’ or ‘no’ consistently to counselors at camp through words, gestures, or signs.
  • Be in good health and show no signs of communicable disease or have open or draining wounds.
  • Toilet-trained and only need assistance with toileting (transfers, hygiene, clothes, & reminders). Campers in diapers for occasional accidents can be managed, but frequent changes cannot be handled in a setting that is largely outdoors.
  • Have a doctor complete a Physician Release form to apply - due before camp and must be up to date on certain vaccinations.
  • Participate on a 1:3 support level within the cabins. 1:1 support cannot be accomplished at camp.
  • Final admittance decisions are based on gender, age, and application review.
  • Active FOCUS campers who have successfully attended Octoberfest may register for Camp Infinity.
What makes FOCUS Overnight Camp Unique
  • An all-inclusive camp experience experienced counselors, where teens and young adults can learn to foster some form of independence and step outside of their comfort zones!
  • An incredible team of nurses and medical professionals who oversee medical care for all campers during camp. This care includes daily medications, seizure care, bowel and bladder programs, and any minor medical needs that may arise during the week. (Available 24/7)
Other Info
  • While fees are charged for overnight camps, partial scholarships are available. Partial scholarships are awarded based on financial need.
  • 3rd Party Waivers Accepted (InCommunity, Bobby Dodd, Acumen).
  • All camp applications are reviewed and considered on an individual basis by our team; they undergo a medical and behavioral review to ensure safety, and to foster an environment where participants can build friendships, confidence, and independence. If your camper hasn’t attended an overnight program with FOCUS before (or it has been a few years), the Camp Director will decide if further contact is needed. After a discussion as a team, we’ll determine whether we can safely care for your camper in our programs. We strive to accommodate as many individuals as possible but need to ensure that we can do that safely in a group setting.
  • At both camp programs, campers will stay in camp cabins, which are air-conditioned and have attached bathrooms. The cabins and bathroom facilities are wheelchair accessible. Approximately 8-10 campers and 3 volunteers stay in each cabin, and cabins are divided roughly by age. Beds are provided, but campers should bring their own linens and pillow (see packing list). In addition, if your camper requires any assistive devices during toileting, we ask you provide it for the week of camp.
  • All meals and snacks are provided by Camp Twin Lakes. Campers eat together in the large dining hall for all 3 meals. Food is served family style, and menus are planned in advance by the CTL nutritionist and food service team. If your camper has any dietary restrictions or food allergies, please inform us in advance on your camper’s application.
